What do you enjoy about Lighthouse Church?

“I went to Lighthouse looking for a fellowship where my children could feel at home. The first time we arrived, Louise was at the door and she gave my boys such a warm, happy greeting they felt welcomed.  I like Lighthouse because it is small and very friendly, and people genuinely care about each other.  The services are not very formal.  I enjoy listening to the teaching, the preachers are all very different from each other but really explain the bible, and it’s not just theory, people live out their faith in real ways.  I love the youth who go there, they really get involved and are part of the family. “

How has your life changed since you decided to follow Jesus?

“I did not believe that I needed to be forgiven or that Jesus was the only way to find God.  Christian friends explained all this to me, and much more, and told me how much God loved me.  My process was slow and gradual, but I kept going.  God showed me bit by bit how I had messed up, hurt myself and others - he forgave me and showed me love and acceptance.  He renewed my heart, and changed the way I think about almost everything!  He gave me spiritual family and many friends.  He gave me joy and helped me learn who I really am and how to express all the good things he has put in me.”

How have you experienced the Lighthouse church family?

“I see the Lighthouse as a close knit family. We are there for each other, in the good times and the bad. We pray for each other and have a genuine concern about each other's welfare and wellbeing. The style of worship is not traditional or regimented in any way. We each have the freedom to worship in whichever way we feel led to do so and to discover more about God and His love for us through the Bible.”

How did you meet Jesus?

“I came to a service and experienced the kindness of people there. I experienced the Lord in many ways and he said to me: “If you receive the gift of my Son Jesus you receive me.” And I have - I welcomed God into my heart and he came in!”
